Ok guys, it’s finally time to make your 2020 Playoff picks ! if you haven’t been paying attention, I’ve been updating the submission process, both in front of & behind the scenes. I want to thank those that helped test the process over the last few weeks. So this is the final design (for now) ! The visual aspect is very clear to see .. The form ‘matches’ the layout of all the player and team charts.. With much trial and error, I was able to get the columns to line up so that when you are making a pick it is directly below your current picks. At least on the computer, I know it’s different on phones and tablets. But even if it didn’t, it wouldn’t matter as much … since one of the biggest pluses (at least in my mind), is that the dropdown menus will only show the available drivers that you can select for the current segment. This eliminates the possibility of picking a duplicate driver ! One of the biggest process changes is that instead of using a 3rd party form and than having to upload the data collected into our database, is that this form is built right into our system and the picks will show up immediately in the database. And therefore in the chart as well. This is a huge timesaver and will give real time results. With that in mind, there is no need to email the picks to you. If you need to make a change, you can just enter them again, anytime up until the time when the form locks (which is displayed right in the submission form). Another major effort was put into making the transition from segment to segment easier… I basically setup a page of variables and implemented them through the pages… I’m also planning to use them to generate the current segment teams page as soon as the form is locked and make it available with a link and show it in place of the submission form.
